Members sunburstbasser
If its done properly, it shouldn't affect it negatively. Find a top-notch repair shop (eg. Charlie Melk) and they should be able to do it for you.
Members Robert Rowe
If its done properly, it shouldn't affect it negatively. Find a top-notch repair shop (eg. Charlie Melk) and they should be able to do it for you. Melk doesn't do re-plating. He, along with most other brass-repair techs, send horns out to Anderson SilverPlating. There's a guy in Western Maryland that does his own replating (I think he trades by "BachShop"). Also, a guy in Florida (offers replating services on eBay, in the horns section. If you're in Western USA, Kanstul does the replating, also. Anderson is renown as the best ... probably the most expensive, also. Melk, BTW, does re-lacquering. Members sunburstbasser
I wondered about that. I think Marcinkiwiecz does replating as well. At least, I think thats where John Duda said they send Calicchios for plating. BTW, Anderson's has plated Schilke horns forever. Pretty good resume!
