Members stangconv
Whats a decent retro style mic thats not going to break the bank? Not quite sure how to find it either... found these in ebay? no namers.. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110456122694&_trksid=p2759.l1259 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110456122694&_trksid=p2759.l1259 Need something thats decent for most singers (since we sometimes take turns singing), but thats not going to break the bank. Currently using a Shure SM58, and that works good, but will be used for backups.
Members Rezrover
I've seen modified mics like that on Ebay where someone inserted a Beta 58 element into the mic.

Members witesol
the Heil is pretty cool, lights up cobalt blue with phantom power. it's really a pr20 capsule inside, sounds good.
Members Dogoth
The EV Raven is a decently priced and very retro looking mic. It's a LD dynamic made by the B.L.U.E. company for EV. Great sounding mics. I've never used one on as a vocal mic but I'd bet they're not bad (they KILL as a guitar amp mic). They kind of look like a headlight from a 1940s car. Since I've never had an ocassion to use on as a vocal mic, I'd recommend demo'ing one before you buy, but they do sound great. FWIW, I like the Heil mics a lot as well. Members unworthy
How much will "break the bank"? The Shure Super 55 Deluxe has a MAP of $249 and sells for less. There's a used one on ebay right now with a BIN of $135. D
Members stangconv
$135 sounds about right for not breaking the bank...I love the looks of that custom shure 55 clone with the leds, but $300 is a little much for a mic.
