Members Rowka
I got a clip-on Audio-Technica mic (AT35-Pro) for the bari the other day I ran it through an ART MP-Studio and into a bass amp. It sounded pretty good. I thought I'd try a few pedals in the signal. I had an EBS BassIQ, EBS OctoBass and a Carl Martin ChorusII handy and tried those. The Bass IQ (auto wah-envelope filter) was a train wreck. The Octobass (octave-down pitch shifter) had a hard time tracking the sax. it works very well with a bass guitar (down to a low F#) but was having a real hard time locking in on the sax's pitch. I'm gonna guess that there is too much sonic content in the sax tone (lots of overtones) and it confused the pitch recognition algorythms. The Carl Martin sounded good. Although, I'm not impressed with the pedal, it worked well.
Members Hunter6
I've been thinking about trying that, but never got around to it. You should post some clips.
Members sunburstbasser
Randy Brecker does this with his trumpet. One thing that might help is using the effects loop if you didn't. Its just too much signal for those pedals otherwise.
