Members dprice
hi, I am in a cover band (1 lead vox, 1 guitar/back vox, 1 bass/back vox, and 1 drummer) I run sound from the stage quite a bit... I have a mackie 1604 vlz board, and we currently only run one vocal monitor mix up front for us with a bit of my guitar mixed in, all from aux send 1... I just purchased a wireless IEM setup for myself ... my question is can i plug it into aux send 2 and then set my own levels ?... and further more, when the other band members eventually get wireless IEM systems too, can they use aux 3 and 4 respectfully?thanks - dp
Members Axisplayer
That is what all the aux's are for, individual sends where you need them to go....so yes you can do that.
Members dprice
hi, thanks... I assumed so, but I've heard that a lot of bands are using split snakes, headphone amps etc... and it seems to me that the aux sends would be a much easier way to go ... unless of course your board doesn't have the aux sends to spare - dp
Members jwlussow
Split snakes are good for splitting between monitor world and FOH - many here don
Members Crownman
Also keep in mind that Aux's 1&2 are pre fader and 3&4 are post fader. If you change levels during the show whoever is on 3&4 is going to have their IEM mix changed also.
