Members imnotded
Is there a commercial product out there that is "cheap"? I would love to move to a distro, but have no experience with them. Something that I can just plug into like 2 circuits would be great. I'm mostly just curious, I dont think I would really NEED one, Let alone even be able to get one hooked up that wasnt just plugged right in. Members monkeyland
i like to just ziptie a standard power bar to the back rails of my racks. if you get some 1ft IEC cables it helps to clean up the rack a lot also. monoprice.com has them for less than a dollar each. Members agedhorse
Is there a commercial product out there that is "cheap"? Let's see... cheap protection? Would you buy cheap condoms? How about the cheapest doctor... maybe low bid? You want cheap meat? Think about what happens when any of the above go wrong.
Members imnotded
That is why I put the word cheap in quotes. A better way to ask would be what is the low cost (as in price and not quality) of a unit that the average joe can use? Or is there even a product out there like this? I guess a generator would be the easiest and safest for those of us that are just weekend warrior types?

Members samkokajko
Nope but they do sell lighting dimmers...that's scary. Actually I worked a production recently that used one (reluctantly) and they couldn't keep the thing running, constantly failing in one way or another.
