Members IsildursBane
I was at a video game convention this weekend and came across a company making custom-molded IEM's for video gamers: http://www.zombieeargear.com Basically, you buy some of their putty, do the ear mold yourself, mail it back to them, and they send you the custom ear buds a couple weeks later. They have a couple different models including some that have their own drivers and some that simply have a receptacle where you can plug in your own existing ear buds. I haven't used these, I don't know how they sound nor how easy & effective the molding process is, but I thought it was something you guys might be interested in checking out, since they're far cheaper than typical custom ear buds. -Dan. Members jwlussow
This place looks like it has better prices and they advertise that they can add the custom molds to other popular buds. I've had three sets from these people and they were pretty fast. http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/cusfitearmol1.html
Members blkmonday
i actually went this route about a year ago and ive been really happy with mine. the drawback is (or in my case it was a plus) it doesnt isolate you 100% (i dont like being isolated 100%) and the color of the material is green. i got a nice set of shure buds from musicians friend on clearance mixed up some of this stuff and couldnt be happier.the link is a little old but if you search for the product on ebay or google you should be able to find some. the product was made for jewelery molding. https://secure.mtnsys.com/variax/Pages/IEM.htm
