Members adrez
My band has a gig in Cancun Mexico, and I need to bring my keyboard. Travelling from the U.S. We're a rock/pop cover band and I've got 100's of patches programmed, the production company does not provide my exact keyboard. I've never shipped it before. I've spoken to the airline and they said my case is within size/weight to be checked as musical instrument (with extra fees). Attached are pics of my case. It's got an aluminum frame, steel corners, hard plastic over 1/4 plywood sides, two recessed heavy-duty latches and one lightweight latch, and 1" foam all around (I'm adding more foam for the occasion). Pictures attached. Any experience/advice? Packing, locking, labeling, customs, prayers, etc? Thanks!
Members Crazyfoo
You'll be fine with that case. I've flown with my keyboards and have never had any issues with the exception of a small screw coming loose near the pitch bend where if my voyager. I would get some 'fragile' decals and put them on your road case - can't hurt when some of those rough and grough baggge handlers handle your case. Congrats - sounds like a great gig!
