Members NashSG
I know it is generally a no no to mix speakers of different ohms like say an 8 and 4ohm on the same amp, as it cuts the ohmage down to 1/2 the lowest speaker. There are exceptions but most power amps don't like 2ohms. If you have a stereo power amp that has separate sides for each channel, can you run an 8 ohm safely on one side with a 4 ohm on another? Or does the fact they most likely share the same power transformer going to automatically cause this to go down to 2 ohms on both sides? I know it would if they were daisy chained off the same side, but wasn't sure in a stereo power amp setup where you have separate controls of each side. A stereo amp is exactlythe same as 2 mono amps in the same package (for the purposes here). The fact that they share a power supply affects nothing. Members NashSG
Sounds good. I know recording gear pretty good, but PA stuff gets a bit beyond me. I wanted to run one side with a couple 8ohm monitors and a sub on the other side of the power amp.
