Dear Stingray5' date='[/size']

Sorry to hear about your XL1600. If you would like information on getting the unit repaired, please feel free to contact our CARE department. You can reach them at CARE@music-group.com or at 702-800-8290 in the US. Please let me know if I can help Here is one way you can help John! How many problems have you had with this mixer. Consider this, suppose I pay to have it repaired and it cost me let's say $150.00 then something else goes wrong? For $200.00 more I could buy a new mixer with built in effects with a warranty.

Best,

Almost all parts in their mixer lines are surface mount. I've got plenty of op-amps of all types. Thousands (you've seen my parts stock JR).

Thanks, but really the surface mount design is the real deal killer. Many of these mixers are the $49 2 X XLR mixers. My labor cost and possible failure rate of surface mount repair (I'd guess about 50%) just makes it uneconomical. We have a slot machine repair shop (I don't deal with the $$$ side of the casino business) that has a hot air flow solder repair tool. Only one fellow knew how to use it properly and he retired :-(actually the guitarist I play with in a kicks band :-). Personally I'm not interested in learning the technique for a $49 mixer (although they might be good candidates for experimentation since if they die - who cares (I guess my boss :-)).
