Members mrmb
I am going from a mix wizard direct out to a zoom digital recorder. Going to plug in each mixer channel to a separate channel into the Zoom recorder. Connection on both sides is 1/4". Do I use balanced or unbalanced cables? Thank You
Members WynnD
Balanced if they both are TRS connectors. If not, run the unbalanced no longer than 20 feet in length. (Shorter is better.) And you probably won't be able to hear the difference.
Members Dogoth
If it's the H1 or H2 it will be unbalanced anyway * (only the H4 has balanced inputs) but as WinnD stated if the cable run is fairly short, it probably won't matter. If you're running off batteries, there's no chance of ground loop so either way is fine.* BTW this doesn't mean that you can't us a balanced out from your mixer, you just need to have the appropriate cable.
