Members jlb
A musician I have been working with is having issues with his rig.The DI out on his amp (SWR) is too noisy to use. When using a passive DI, after about 10 minutes his cabinet starts producing a buzzing sound. This issue only happens when using a DI. Members Pro Sound Guy
You just listed two complete different issuesIf he plugs straight from his guitar to the amp and their is no hum then suspect the DI or cable fromthe DI to the ampIs the DI passive or active? If active is he using a battery or powered through a wall wart?If it is active with a battery change out the battery in the DI
Members jlb
We used four different DI's both active and passive and tried a couple different guitar cables all resulting in this upper mid range buzzing sound. The issue I'm concerned with is the problem occurring when using an external DI.
Members agedhorse
What happens when you remove the parallel out from the DI to the amp? Does the noise go away? What model swr amp?
Members jlb
When the parallel out from the DI to the amp is removed the noise goes away. Looking into the amp model right now. Edit: SWR SM
