The price has gone way up on these (see www.schneidersbuero.com). These are on their last production run, and it's rather rare that they show up used. The sam-16 is rather unique in its ability to integrate cv/gate and midi. It sends out both, and you can modulate the midi values in various ways with cv inputs. There are also 2 rows, one of which can be used to crossfade audio or cv inputs, and the other is a sequential switch in which you can sequence up to 16 audio or cv inputs. Various timing modes, events split into 2 midi channels, chords can be input per step, and the whole thing can be clocked at audio rates. If you're interested in one of these, you probably have some idea of what it does... I'm primarily looking for Serge stuff, but it's possible I'd go for another interesting trade.
