Actually does lower gain really well too. Nice and dynamic and not muddy or harsh. $200 Violet Ram Head Muff built with carbon comps, ceramic disc caps, and 1970s 2N5133 transistors with the proper gain values. Sounds huge. $150 Ibanez OD880 copy. Crisp overdrive/distortion tones. Not overly midrangey like a tube screamer but bright and clear.
