Members hoosranime Posted December 29, 2008 Members Share Posted December 29, 2008 I wish I had the extra $$$ this guitar would compare to Gibson's Historic Line or Custom Shop, it has the long tenon neck joint, Gibson does not use them on the regular run les pauls, they only use them on the historics or custom shop stuff. as far as an eclipse goes, you can't really compare it with a les paul, it is close in terms of looks, but there is a difference. esp can't sell these in the USA due to their license agreement with Gibson, if they did sell them in the USA, they would kill gibson and give them a run for their money. in my opinion the japanese Les Pauls have better quality control than the USA made Gibson's, I have seen a lot of new gibson les pauls that should have 2nd stamped on them, the kalamazoo factory would have.
