Members Unfed
well, that i can understand. hopefully he'll delete this one as well. Members MartinHines
It appears this forum is an extremely hostile place for manufacturers. Given his "warm rececption", I doubt C.J. will return. Another "opportunity lost" to talk with people who have insider knowledge about synths. It WAS just ONE post, and the "spamming police" sounded the "red alert" sirens. Promotional, yes; spam, no. The forum is "on a roll" -- yesterday trashing Virsyn, now Kurzweil is "utterly vile". The end result? When new products are announced and people want knowledgeable details that only insiders can provide, you will have to find out elsewhere -- which is sad. Members mildbill
ya, pink floyd uses kurzweil - so what - that's spam? i looked for ivorycj's post too - i don't think you can delete your own posts anymore, so someone else must have done it - this place is starting to suck big time. april fool's. True, but manufacturing reps have very limited time to post on forums. If you were a rep, where would you take the time to answer questions? -- a. a forum where you were called "utterly vile", all due to JUST ONE promotional post -- b. a forum where people were respectful towards you. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't count on it. ** Edit -- I was wrong. **
Members BillyWa
Don't everyone bite my large head off at once, but what exactly is wrong with promotional spam? It not like he sent it to your email address a thousand times. If you don't like the thread, don't read it. Is it against some sort of forum rule? Ok, I'd buy that, but it would be a stupid rule. Just my not entirely humble opinion. Now deleting my Britporn thread, I can understand. It was a joke, but got out of hand and I got warned just like AK. Sorry to Synthbaron, I feel somewhat responsible for starting the thread that got him axed. But I'll get over it.

Not only would I not care if someone online insulted me, but if I made a product and I came across a forum, (any forum, even one where I offended people) where my help was needed or appreciated, I would help them to the best of my ability. "{censored} those guys! They acused me of spamming them!" As for "inside information" - some people here actually do a great job - admitting that they are company reps, but still contributing to the board as a whole while being honest about where their bias is. Members ivorycj
Sooooooooo................. First off, I apologize for posting the press release if it offended anyone. I don't recall trying the PR was selling anything, but if some of you took it that way...buy an Oasys just to punish me. Seriously, I certainly meant no offense -- I was asked by our company to post this press release on forums that we felt were visited by people who cared about our product. Personally, I don't need to sell Kurzweil on the web -- I think people "get it" by now. Yes, we are proud that Pink Floyd and Brian Wilson, and a plethora of other artists demand our product for shows around the world. OK, maybe we were blowing our own horn a bit...but to put me in the same league as penis enlargement, free RAZR cell phones, and home mortgage emails!?! Come on. Yes, it was my one (1!) post. I really don't have time to monitor all of the forums -- HC was one I just haven't gotten to yet. I will do my best to hang around and help out users here at Harmony to the best of my ability, and not go running off with my tail between my legs. Oh, by the way, this is the internet...it's OK to be 'utterly vile' here

Get my point? I totally get your point. Hey buddy, wanna buy a Kurzweil? OK, all humor aside now. Although I am not a real-live support ninja for Kurzweil, I can answer my share of questions with relative intelligence and very little spamming. I can't recall who vented their anger! I did post the fact that there seemed to be equal numbers of Fantom, Triton, Kurz & Motif synths there - not enough to warrent thread deletion. It's something you deal with as a manufacturer. You will never please 100% of the buying public, even if you're selling one of their basic needs, let alone a very expensive instrument. Luckily, my skin is thicker than water...errr...my blood is softer than silk...ahhhh...you know what I mean. It is a very deep synth so those that luv to get deep into the various programs will luv it.
