Members rvandenbroeck
What sort of chairs do folks recommend for playing live (gigging and rehearsing)? I've been playing for 10+ years now and have always used a drum stool but I've been getting a sore back lately. Also, it's a bit of a pain to reach if I'm jamming on either the really low octaves or really high ones. So... I'm thinking of making a change. My options are a drum stool with back support, a regular piano bench, and office chair (with wheels). I'm thinking the office chair is the best option because it offers back support and, because of the wheels, I can move from the lower octaves to the higher ones relatively easily but I wanted to see what other folks like. Any thoughts/suggestions?
Members rvandenbroeck
bump this up... Also, I play two keyboards - a digital piano at a normal hight in front of me (my primary keyboard) and a digital organ above that...
Members Bones
Used to always sit. Over the last few years I've used a bar height stool. I basically stand and rest my butt on the stool for balance when using the swell pedal.
Members Darkstorm
I say either a drum throne or bar stool is best choice. Easy to transport & giggable. Why dont you standand get groovy with then music instead? Jus curious.
Members DanS
I use the Quik-Lok seat with the backrest. Heavy as {censored}, but it does the job. $99 from Sweetwater.
