Members jmingo
I was wondering what chords these were, Eric Johnson seems to play them a lot. |----------9------14----16------|---------11---16---18-----|---------11---16---18----|----------9---14----16----|------------------------------|------------------------------ Over what chords would these go well with in standard major key songs?? Anyone have any other chords eric johnson plays tabbed out that they could share?? Thanks
Members jazzbo
They are all the same chord shape, just with different roots. Looking at the first one, the notes are B F# A# C# it suggests Bmaj9, but if the bass player were playing a G# it could be G#m11 same with the other two either Emaj9 or C#min11 either F#maj9 or Ebmin11
Members jmingo
so throwing the first chord over top of a B chord or a G#m would be good?? or a song in the key of B or G#m woudl be alright too? thanks

Members joenovice
I use those shapes all the time to imply minor 11 chords. "Imply" because I use them without a root. They sound more like minor structures than major.
