Members gennation
Here ya go ska. Although, this one is fun NOT TO analyse, but better to just play over... You can not find a note that doesn't work on this progression. I was going to post this a little later for my fellow formites...but here you go... (actually, DON"T analyse it...just play over it for us) http://www.jdbluesville.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3554

I am stupidly trying to prove i have at least some theory knowledge, so i`m happy to analyse the piece if that

Members red|dragon
http://www.recursiverecords.com/Muzaki.php ^ is that your music? Well why didn't you say you are trying to push electroacoustic music? I suppose you know who Ivan Tcherepnin is right? http://www.tcherepnin.com/ivan/trib_ivan_eldridge.htm Dr. Eldridge was my music theory and aural skills teacher my freshman year. I had planned on taking his electroacoustic class but he was arrested for assault (went crazy from all the music I guess) and no longer teaches at my college. Not sure what happened to him. But anyways... His theory was that music is everywhere. He would take a pot into a recording studio and smash it on the floor and would record the smashing sound. He would take those bits of sound and rearrange them into music creating this ultra eletronicacoustic sound. He played us some of his music. {censored}ing amazing. I later went to an electroacoustic music festival held at another nearby college. It was a dome effect, with about 12 speakers all around us sub woofers the half the size of a car, with us directly in the middle. They turned the lights off and we sat there in the dark and just listened. Some of the music had videos playing on a screen. Pure art.

Members lazaraga
reducing chord changes to a handful of modes is explaining the underlying harmonic theory? something else is going on, at least in my opinion... peace ps- that's not an Eb chord, it's an E (b9)

Not to mention the little problem of 'Ab' being considered the tonal center when there isn't a single 'Ab' harmony to be found! That's ok, though...he's the guy who is going to develop a comprehensive theory and understanding of Schoenberg's 12-tone concept.

Poparad
This is a flame thread from yesteryear that would've been closed had the LL had moderators then. This was started in the midst of a bunch of other flame threads, and fortunately most of those people don't post here anymore.
