Hey all, i am looking for getting something to record with, i already have a interface but looking for something abit more.

I have looked at the axe fx, pod hd500 and eleven rack.

I play metal and have a engl fireball currently.

I would be using it for recording only at the present. I would like to be able to download patches to it.

What would be best for me?

What is your budget?

The general consensus seems to be that the Axe-Fx is the best sounding modeler/system out there right now, and nothing else is in the same class. The eleven rack is also a rack mounted two space unit- the POD is a floor based multi-effects processor/modeler. I've heard decent things from all of them- will you be keeping your ENGL? Do you want to use it as a front end to whatever modeler you get?

What's wrong with micing the fireball? -Especially if that's what you use live. {censored}, the axe FX is more expensive than the ENGL. And you're diving into a totally different realm with it. You might find yourself gigging (like a bug to a zapper) with the FX if you got it.
