Members elctmist
Manhattan GC had a Peavey Century 200 watt bass head which appeared to be marked up at $99. I have no idea how these sound but if you're looking for cheap bass kit its gotta be worth a look right?
Members bikehorn
yeah, and it's a Peavey too...you'll rarely EVER hear anyone say their SS peavey bass amp crapped out on them. come hell or high water, an old peavey will still be rockin' at a low price. Members BillyGrahamCracker
Good prices. But, actually, I'll still preach the virtues of the Peavey Firebass 700. They can be had for cheap and when married to a decent P-Bass (or P-Bass copy), they rip. For sure.

Members jcn37203
$29 for a Backstage is *ok* I guess, but I wouldn't call it a fantastic deal. It's an OK amp with good reverb (at least the Backstage Plus model is) but the overdrive, if you can call it that, isn't so great. It gets decently loud though I guess
Members ginnboonmiller
Mmmmmm... I remember Peavey. Those bass heads won't break no matter how much you want them to... I'm gonna pass on that one, since it's going up against a JC 120 and the World's Most Attention Starved Drummer. Might start looking for this Firebass 700 thing that Caleb is talking about, though... Turns out I got things timed right that I'm "going on sabbatical" to Annapolis, MD for the month of July, maybe August, to finish this damn book I've been working on (I'm on my third contract extension. It's time...), so I'm gonna see if I can't line up a deal at non-NYC prices for a spell. Note this, though -- I'm still playing with L'Ocrabanza on July 9 in Williamsburg and on July 21 in Philly with Dr. Yarrow. I will plug the crap out of those shows as the dates approack.
