This delay is very, very nice. :D

Out of the box, it seemed like it took a few minutes to
begin generating delay...then I figured out the
"blue-light" thing... :o

This is a great box:

FORM:
- An extrordinary purple paintjob. Feels like velvet.
- No need to label the controls....they become
intuitive after 30 seconds, and it's "just a delay" ferchrissakes!

FUNCTION:
- Straightforward Wet/Dry mixer.
- The Regen'd repeats vary nicely throught the range.

- Delay ranges from Near-Zero to 250-350 msec
(my internal clock is suffering from last-night-syndrome)

-Best is, the tonal rolloff of the repeats...
This is NOT a sterile, digital sounding pedal.
And as Mr Keeley hinted at, it DOES like OVERDRIVE.

I'll be using this for a LOT o' Rockabilly / PsychoSurf stuff.

So far, I have only spent an hour or two with it,
and that has been with a simple guitar/pedal/amp setup:

Staying close to my roots, I chose:

Harmony H78 : (ES 335-clone...extremely underrated)
DeArmond Maximum (NECK) - louder/punchier/mid-ier than:
TV Jones Filtertron Plus (MID)
Ric Single Coil (BRIDGE)

INTO: a 6V6 pushpull amp (Silvertone 1482)
thru 2x12 Webers C12's in my home made pine-openback cab.

The regen, at the right settings, will give an almost
reverb-like quality to the delay. I am seriously considering
DROPPING a big ol' offboard reverb due to this delay.

With pick dynamics and the right pickup
("YES" w/the DeA, "kinda" with the TVJ, "sorta" with the Ric)
the initial few milliseconds seem to overload and
make a BEAUTIFUL, MUSICAL, VERY USEFULL
chiff-like attack (..."chiff" is the "puff" at the attack of a pipe-organ
diapason stop/sound). This is carried thru the repeats and
makes for some great texture possibilities.

This is what I have been exploring so far.

Sorry, I've got no front-end for recording clips at this time.

I'll post more thoughts later.

For jTreu:

This is from the Katrina Auction.

It is just one of the prototypes.

I hear there may be a few more bells and whistles
in the production models....didn't I read a post here
about an effects loop in the repeat-block?

I'll have to get one of those, too ! ! !

After reading my short writeup...

NO KIDDING, it'll have a reverb-like quality ! ! !
Many delay's do!

But the filtering makes this little digital pedal's
repeat-chain "disperse" (for lack of a better word)
into a pleasant warm wash of sound that is
remaniscent of a dark reverb with echo layered on top.
It is a bit different than most.

At one point, I got it to mimic an old Dano-type
reverb on feedback...while this is not something that most
people would want, I find it useful in PsychoSurf
and it is way off on the limits of tweek ranges, so you
shouldn't run into it unless you blunder way off the
beaten track.

Anyway, I'm goin' back for more!

I hope not. I am in the market for a small delay pedal, preferably inside an MXR sized box. The one you have looks perfect. My DL-4 and DMM are too big.

Pics of the inside plz

I was considering it,

but since this is acknowledged to be a prototype,

I think it might be unfair to the maker.

I haven't popped the lid, and might not until

the batt runs dry.

Back in the day, my prototypes were, uh,

the things that nightmares were made of.
