Got an old pedal

(edited to remove innane "parody" comment that confused

one or more members of the board...sorry about my lame attempts at humor.)

Both of these arrived in the past 2 days.

PEDAL CONTENT:

The CE-1 is all it's cracked up to be.

The former owner moved the stereo-out to the

faceplate (the side jack may have been damaged)

I am an unabashed, FOOL for the older style pedals.

Size is no object. Lack of glossy paintjobs makes no difference.

It's just all about the tone of the old stuff vs more todays

more sterile products....I realize that may be a troll to

some of you, but to old ears with lots of damage,

the older toys simply sound better.

GUITAR CONTENT:

Harmony made a few models that are worth posting about,

and the H49 is one. The neck is 50's chunky, but very playable

and the tone is classic nasty blues/rock. If you've only played

hightech, glossy pointy guitars, you owe it to yourself to

try one just for the experience...it's kinda like riding a bull

in a redneck bar.

Sorry the pic is so small. I'm having a hard time getting things

sized right between my home edit sw and photobucket-dot-com.

Those funky old guitars are alot of fun to play when you can find them in good working condition. I believe that is a Stratotone. I would most likely play Link Wray tunes and lines like Marc Ribot played in the soundtrack to Down By Law.

RE Thelonius' thread...about 10 down....

......a parody "in title only"..........

But the pedal and guitar are serious, good tools
for music.

ce-1 looks very cool, but id rather have the retrosonic chorus ensemble ce-1 clone just becuase its a little smaller and theres no ac cord so i can just power it w/my one spot,

jTreu,

The space and power issues are lower on my list,
but that's because I no longer play out.

I'd be interested in the one spot tho,
cuz I do have a number of pedals that could
benefit from it....I should start using those
AC adapter jacks....:o
