Members Redfox777
Amp forum is no help. The web site says "classic vox tone". I was curious if that is an acurate statement or just another marketing promise. Anyone have any opinions or experience with them?
Members Wyatt
In a Vox amp, they would. They are Weber's clone of the vintage Celestion/Vox Blue AlNiCos. Probably a little closer to the originals than the Celestion RI is; like orginal Vox AlNiCo's, the Bluedogs are warmer (and not as efficent)., the Celestion RI by comparison is a brighter (but not piercing), louder speaker. Weber will make his Bue Dogs with a shorter voice coil to make them sound like the Celestion RI's on request. Will they make your Peavey Classic 50 sound liek a Vox? Hell no, the preamp voicing of that amp isn't very Voxy and no speakers are going to change that. however, they might be nice speakers for the amp, none the less. -Y. Members Onswah
The post above basicall said everything I was going to except for this: After dealing with Ted for replacement speakers for my Twin Reverb, I will always use weber speakers no matter the amp.
