Members Goofball Jones
Is there a list anywhere that lists the equipment/keyboards/synths used on classic songs? Like what synth was used on "On the Run" by Pink Floyd (the VCS3)...for instance. There are bits and pieces all around the web...but it would be nice to have a central repository somewhere where you can just input a song or group and it lists what was used on a song. Places like "Vintage Synth Explorer" just lists the synths (and not other keyboards like a B3 or whatever) and what groups have used them, but not specific songs on which they were used. Just a thought...for historical purposes. Or would I really be the only one interested in this?

I know there is a guitar equipment webpage of stuff used by guitarist. I have a few links: http://www.geocities.com/jpjkeys/index.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_CR-78 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARP_Odyssey http://www.facevalue.me.uk/Face%20Value-Keyboards.htm Here is the guitar website i was talking about: http://www.guitargeek.com/ I think it would be a cool project/website to try to make. It would take a large amount of searching the internet.
Members Goofball Jones
Maybe make it a wiki site so others can add to it or edit it to make it open. And actually, could be all the instruments used in a particular recording.

Maybe. I have never done any edits on that site. I dont know what would be involved in starting something like that on wiki. Perhaps if enough people on this forum were interested it could be a group project/effort.
Members keyman-sam
I know A.R.R uses the Fantom S a LOT! I can hear it all over the place in his recent albums.
Members Paolo Di Nicolantonio
I started something like that with the famous sounds page at my site. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to update it in quite some time. It does take a lot of time researching on magazines, interviews, the Internet etc. http://www.synthmania.com/Famous%20Sounds.htm
Guest Anonymous
Yes. I forgot about your "Famous Sounds" site/page. That is very informative. It has been useful to me. My fear with trying to create a "Equipment/keyboards Website" would be if it was not comprehensive enough. There is so much to know and there would perhaps be many holes or gaps to fill. Members hyperstationjr
True but if it was sort of a community effort, where you have a hundred or maybe even just people all over the web on it... you could cover a lot of ground... To keep it from being just a "rumored" setup type thing, you could also ask that people who post info on it name a particula source (say a magazine, or weblink, etc...) or the post gets deleted...
