Members Fourth Floor
Agreed on Neko Case and Mogwai. I'll add Augie March (but don't love it) Flaming Lips' At War with the Mystics is growing on me too (better to listen to as a whole rather than single tracks). The Muse Absolution DVD is my DVD release of the year so far.

Members troubbble
I'm having a really hard time with At War With The Mystics. Some of the songs are a little too weird, and some of them seem like bad song writing with a nice Flaming Lips touch to make them a little more than mediocre. But mostly it seems like a lot of the lyrics are really forced. Like before Wayne would just make some silly stuff up, and now he's going for some message and it feels weird. But then it has some great stuff that makes it difficult to put down.

Members Narcosynthesis
Mogwai - Mr Beast The Flaming Lips - At War with the Mystics The Animal Collective - Feels those are the only two I can think of that are new this year. Bot are stunning though, Mogwai is just damn good, especially some of the heavier more intense stuff like Glasgow mega snake (admittedly I only have Rock action to compare it to) and I do like the new flaming lips, some much more 'rock' numbers than on Yoshimi which always keeps me happy, and the rest of it is pretty damn good too. Not completly sure if Feels is this year or last, but its damn good regardless and fairly new, some odd styles of playing/singing which sounds very cool and unique (to me at least) happy alternative pop music David

Members dot-dot-dot
If we're talking 2006 purchases, not 2006 releases, then for me there is only one answer; Dredg's El Cielo. I think it is probably the best album I have ever, ever heard, blowing The God Machine's Scenes From The Second Storey and Dark Star's 20-20 Sound into a rather distant joint second.
