anyone over 30 can see that the younger generation is more influenced by media than any generation ever before

 

it's time to initiate some sort of mentor program to prevent them from being complete morons

I had an awesome music teacher in junior high. He spent a lot of time teaching us to develop what he described as "crap detectors." Luckily, I was able to get his lessons before the administration forced him to stop.

I have a unofficial mentee. I have a guitar player friend who is about half my age (I'm late 40's). He calls me for gear advice, I've produced a demo for his band, occaisionally I'll do a guest apperance with them, and he's done guest appearences with my geezer band.

He gets some education out of it, I get to share my experience with someone who gives a damn, it's a good relationship.

That's pretty much what I do all day. I'm a professional mentor. It's pretty cool. My main client has just become interested in guitar so on free days we play a lot.
