Members musicbox
holy grail is brilliant, but to noisy for pre-input. preamp stages just amplify what little noise there is. in an effects loop, i don't believe the verbzilla or digiverb really hold a stick to it for lushness, although they are more versitile. Members houseofglass21
Never tried the Holy Grail, but FWIW I have the Verbzilla and it's wayyy better than the Digiverb I used to have.
Members fetuspetus
the reason the effects loop may be an issue is that i want a bad cat 30. i really want the 30R so i can have the reverb + the effects loop + the footswitch.. but looking for one of those used, its gonna be a while it seems.. especially since I want a head, not the combo. I'll keep my eyes peeled though.. i dont' mind spending a few hundred more for these options. I like many effects in the loop. Ben

Members natasmi
Digiverb for me, but I gotta say, I recently got an old ZOOM 507, and it sounds HUGE, best 20 doller bill I've spent in a long time. And it crushes my buddy's Holy Grail.
Members outofmoney
based purely on versatility and tone quality, Verbzilla gets my vote
Members canucker1981
The grail killed the digiverb in tone and feel. But the noise is a killer and its not versatile at all. Basically one or two sounds. When the noise is not there, its perfect. It is there quite a bit though. Im dying to try a verbzilla. Expensive buggers though just for reverb. Members bojo
I went through the same dilemma a couple week ago. I went with the digiverb cause I found one b-stock for 60$ and the verbzilla was like 150$ and I didn't want to spend that much on a reverb pedal. But I think if you can afford it, go with the verbzilla. The digiverb is not a bad choice, but the sound quality seems to be better with the line6. I tought about the holy grail, but I heard so many people say they had problems wit them that I decided not to consider it.
Members SpectralJulian
For 150, you think the verbzilla would have reverse.
Members cantoXIII
Originally posted by SpectralJulian For 150, you think the verbzilla would have reverse. that's the biggest factor holding me back from purchasing one right now. i have a digiverb currently, and i only use the reverse because to me, it's the only truly worthwhile function of the pedal. i'd love to get a verbzilla to actually have lush reverbs [octo setting...mmm...], but i can't justify having both. arrggh... Members mrbluetone
The Verbzilla replaced my Digiverb last December a better sounding unit all around and the 63 Spring is pretty cool!
Members fetuspetus
any other pedal suggestions for me? I seroiusly woudlnt' mind having two verbs... one in front and one in the loop. THey do cool things both places. Ben

Members DylanWilde
What does reverb sound like in front of an amp, as opposed to in a loop? My amp doesn't have an effects loop, and but I want to kind of have a subtle reverb on my signal. . .
Members Squier Fat Telecaster
I had a holy grail and shoulda kept it. I ran it in front of my roland bluescube. Worked great. Cannot use the reverb with built in overdrive. sounds wierd. Needs to have dirt pedal in front of reverb.

Members Mike McLenison
I tried the Verbzilla today for the first time. I want one. It was thick, lush and inspiring. I think it's the best out there.

Members murch33
It's the exact same unit. You just have to have the base part to plug the guts into.
Members gghyt101
OH, oops I didnt realize that line 6 did that. I thought it was passive or something, but that would kinda suck...
Members mumford
I have a HotCat 30.... get the 30R. And make sure the 30 isn't too loud for what you need. I have a hard time getting the clean channel loud enough to overdrive. Wish I bought the 15.
