the important role that vocals play

many of my favorite songs are painfully simple but have a vocal melody that is really what makes the track great (and perhaps the voice itself)

 

I wish I could provide vocals so I wouldn't have to do it all with my guitar

then again, even if I sang like Jim Neighbors, I still would have to write the melody

I bought a powered speaker for my band, and was singing into it yesterday. Man, you dont realize how bad your voice is until you get it real loud. I really wish that I could sing at least passably

Best way to be able to sing is to do it a lot.
You probably sounded weird on guitar at first, too.
