Members fusionid
today I came back home after being away from my rig for more than a month. I woke up at 10:00am and turned the amp on ever since. I played a little bit, took a shower, played some more. had lunch, played some more, posted here... you get the point. I would swear the tubes sound better the longer theyve been cooking. Does this happen to you? do tubes sound better after a warm up time? EDIT I dont mean the 20 to 30 min warm up. I mean hrs. Members GuyaGuy
uh....YEAH!hel-LO!how long have you been playing, noob?i hated the overdrive on my last amp without warmup time--very farty. weird thing is that it seemed like it stayed farty if i didn't let them warm up first in standby first. Members psalt_phallow
tubes should always be warmed up at least a little to prevent cathode stripping and shortening the life of the tubes. I've never heard of that long making a difference though.
