Members fatbackribs
Take heed, this octave divider/guitar synth pedal is not for the faint of heart... Soul Provider demo http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8329628497780225820 ...but it sure is fun! The Soul Provider mainly works monophonicly, but there was one setting where I could get some small chords to happen without complete glitch-down. It's the kind of pedal that tells you what to play as much as you tell it. here is the control label from the back:

Members papa taco
Yikes. Based on that, I much prefer the Catalinbread Teaser Stallion. Different effects obviously, but both can be used for faux-synth noises. Thumbs down.
Members fatbackribs
HMC - thanks. that's an old Electratone series Grosh baritone from Don's early days. Formica, FTW?!! Papa T. - The Soul Provider can be a bit of a prickly pear. It's been a love/hate thing for the folks I've shown it to. Brian's 5-knob Noise Box is another cool pedal for those seeking some mutant tones. The NB is all about mad filtered sounds while the SP is more of a wacko octave/fuzz/synth. I still haven't tried a Teaser Stallion, but it's on the list.
