Members bendedavis
Whats a good multi-effects unit that doesn't have amp sims and has stuff like phase shifter and ring mod?

Members kishjor
The Vox Tone Lab is amazing. It has amp models though. Carl marting makes a sort of multieffects pedal. All analog, I think it has only compression, delay, 2 overdrives and chorus. Nothing extreme. Line 6 has the MM4 that has a lot of effects, and the FM4 which I have been dying to try out. Members orourke
I'm hooked on my Boss. If you can find a good condition GT-3 or GT-5 I'd suggest you snatch one up, they go for pretty cheap also. They're easier to program than either the newer Boss GT-6 or 8 or the Digitech multi's. And the amp modeling and preamp stuff is secondary (and turn-off-able) to the effects. (I think they were designed before the modeling craze). They've got some great modultion, harmonizer, slow gear, delay and reverb plus a pretty decent compressor. Amazing stereo capability (that's why I use two amps). The overdrive and distortion ain't too good, but I use some fancy dirt boxes in front of it. Oh, and all perameters are assignable to the expression pedal, which and be pretty useful. Members Sutto
I have a Korg AX1500G that has awesome effects and the amp sims are easy to turn off. Got it as a "blem" (not sure what's wrong, looks good to me) from MF for $143 shipped.
Members tedguitar88
I would go for the Boss GT-6, since I use it. It has everything you could think of. And the great arrange of distortions and amp sims is just great. Consider that I play Death Metal, so it needs a powerful distortion.
