Members srag6998
i want to get my younger brother a distortion pedal for christmas. around 50$, and new. the thing is that he's a beginner and plays a squier on a 15w amp. theres no plan of new equpitment any time soon.but he wants a distortion pedal. anyways, whats a good pedal thats agreable with single coils (not too much noise)? so far loked at the boss metalzone (which i used to play with), digitech grunge and death metal. Members molsen
check ebay for a boss ds-1. it'll give more gain than the bad monkey if he's looking for something a little more saturated
Members billboneys
I've had no experience with these but Fender and Washburn both have distortion pedals that are sold at Target. Fender has a distortion and Washburn has a blues overdrive and a soloist distortion. The Washburn pedals say true bypass and go for $39.99 (at least here in Texas) and the Fender is around $49.99. I'm assuming they'd be fine for a beginner. Good luck.
