Members bmast160
if you connect two effects using one stereo cable instead of one mono cable will the output be the same? will there be any distortion of the sound because of the fact that in the stereo cable only the tip is being used (the ring isnt being used)? Members cdawzrd
Depends on the effect. If you try to connect 2 stompboxes with a stereo cable, the second one might not come on, as they depend on having a mono plug inserted to complete the power circuit. If it is 2 rackmount effects, and they have a single stereo jack for in/out, it is no different than having 2 mono cables, signal-wise. Using a splitter/insert cable, there is no difference/distortion.
