Members bmast160
how would you describe the difference in sound using a boost like a keeley katana and then a boss ds-2 versus using a the ds-2 then the katana? how does the interaction between the two change? Members josh27
I don't have those pedals but when I put a boost in front of my rat it sounds more high gain ish versus rat then boost just boosts the level without effecting sound
Members Flying_Milkman
I use boost after my distortion so that I can boost the level and be louder for solos.
Members bmast160
would you describe it as more natural with the boost then distortion? if you use distortion then boost is it just like using the distortion only louder?

Right, it's just taking the signal that your feeding it and making it a given number of dB louder. I use my boost (not a Keeley) as a clean boost as well, just to push the guitar over the mix when soloing. Sounds good when put before distortion... I honestly don't know how I'd describe it. I tend to just boost my dirt with a TS9 in front of them.
Members bmast160
and if you put the boost before a distortion it increases the distortion's effect on the signal because the distortion input is getting a stronger signal? To me it sounds thicker. But your results may vary.
