Members danuniversal
Sorry for my ignorance, but i dont understand well this. I saw a lot of pedals with "tube amp distortion", so If i use a tube amplifier i need a distortion pedal? Can i do distortion with a vox AC30 amp? How? I dont have this amp, but i am planing to buy it, and i dont know if i will need a distortion pedal . Thanks.
Members triplover64
I'm pretty sure you can get distortion with a AC30 but you might want different distortion sounds. Pedals give you versatility. Try an Overdrive pedal first, though before you get a distortion pedal. AC30's have some pretty sweet sounds in them and too much juice from a pedal can take some of your tone away. Try to work with the natural sound of the amp and guitar. Members guitarcapo
It's a way of getting the preamp tube distortion without the volume. One thought: preamp tubes only distort naturally if they are driven by real tube voltages. Forget about anything battery operated or using 300mA/ 9Vgiving you "tube distortion" You need something like a Bad Cat 2-Tone
Members sabriel9v
Use a volume boost like an LPB-1 or Micro Amp to kick your tube amp into overdrive.
