Members Pr3Va1L
Alright, I've been looking at MIDI keyboard controllers... I'm mostly interested in the Novation Remote LE series (because of the touch pad and the combo joystick) but I'm wondering how useful 61 keys is (for VA Synth use) VS. 49 keys. There is a sale on those, but the 61 keys is out of stock (Discontinued, I was told..) So what do you use? How important is that octave to you? Thanks
Members Ed A.
I know that if I use anything less than a 61 note keyboard, I 'm always wishing for that extra octave. A 49 note keyboard is too constricting for me, even though I'm a synth player and not a pianist.
Members carbon111
I got spoiled by using a 76 key controller for a long time, now 61 feels cramped
Members Khazul
If im sticking hte board on a stand - then nothing less than 61 keys. If sticking it on my desk, then ill make do with 37 or 49 as less space. I find 25 pretty useless for anything other than basslines. Most stuff I play can be done on a 49 if I dont need to solo up the board, but it feel a bit cramped.
Members 7DeadlySynths
I always found 49 perfectly fine for synths.
Members Pr3Va1L
I've got a 77 keys I'm using for piano sounds and such, so that's not a problem.... But yeah, for lead synth, how small is 49?
