MXR Blue Box glitchy or broken?

Just got a new MXR Blue Box, and I knwo the thing is supposed to be glitchy, but there are time when it seems like it's choking off my notes. Is it supposed to maintain the natural sustain, or does it cut off periodically. A dud would be a bummer.

LOL, yeah, that's what the Blue Box does. Seriously, they all sound like that. It would be really cool if it didn't sound so muted and cut out all the time. I like the octave wobbling a lot.

Say, where'd you get the Flying V chick?

Thanks guys. I though it was by-design, but I just wanted to make sure I was getting the glitch factor correct. It's really cool. I just have to get used to it.

I wonder why no one has cloned and improved the Blue Box? Seems like a no brainer: better bypass, more volume, switchable 1 or 2 octaves down option, a tone knob... If I didn't suck at soldering I'd do it.

There are other great alternatives on the market, like the midfi glitch computer, 4ms nocto loco and copilot mantis 2, and from what some of the videos the new miaudio polyriama (their new octaver)

I am humbly indebted to you for making me aware of the MI Audio Polyanna.
