Members niacin2.0
I picked u[p the "Blues Hanon". Give it a miss. You want technique get the Bartok. When you get through the last volume you'll be up for anything.
Members girevik
This book combines material from Hanon, Bergmuller, and Czerny: http://www.amazon.com/Burgmuller-Czerny-Hanon-Technique-Musicality/dp/0739020307 My own exposure to Hanon was via the Alfred's All-In-One Adult Piano course, which was selected for me by my last piano teacher, who is a pro jazz pianist. His other book selection for me was book of jazz piano pieces for kids, whose title I can't remember. What I can report is that the Alfred's series drew on Hanon for sure, but didn't make the Hanon material to be the be-all, end-all of technical skill development for the piano.
