Members bengerm77
does anyone make a cheap ts808 clone? I want one. I wanted to think I could mod a bad monkey by installing a 4558 chip (ts808 chip I think) in it, but I can't read a circuit diagram and I don't know if I could does that tiny work. So who makes an inexpensive ts808 clone?

Members Greg Rhodes
If true-bypass isn't a necessity just go with a TS-5 or a TS-10. They're cheap and they don't sound drastically different from a vintage TS-808. How much are you looking to spend? $100 or less?

Members myTakamine
Yeah, I don't think you can get any cheaper than the TO800, and it definitely sounds good.
Members turnitto11
I like the SD-1. Not really a clone, but in the same category. If you remove a certain diode and jumper it, it becomes even more like a tube screamer by having symmetrical clipping as apposed to the stock asymmetric. The SD-1 also comes with a 4558DD which is supposedly the low noise version of the tube screamer IC.
