Members Taylor704
I'm looking to buy either a ProCo Rat 2 or the Turbo Rat for my distortion needs and i'm wondering what people think of them, what are the differences between them etc etc I'm not really a fan of mega compressed distortion and I prefer more open distortion sounds to use with my Tele Thanks
Members deluxe74
I have the Deucetone rat, which has both of those rat options on it. I personally don't see TOO much of a difference in the turbo and II, the turbo is just going to give you a little bit more dirt. I'd say the II is always a safe bet, go with that. Members Sovtek50
The Turbo Rat has a little less compression and a little more volume according to ProCo.
Members Stratman Tigers
I can nail the perfect Bends tone on my Turbo.
Members GaijinGweilo
i'd vote for the rat2 just because i really didn't like my Turbo. If you have a Vox Ac15/30 though it might work Ok, but not if you've got a modern-sounding marshall.
