As the title says... my singer got an external hard drive last week and moved all his garageband files onto it and erased them from the imac...

I was at his earlier and wanted to get some samples for live use and realised on his external HD, all the garageband files didnt have any file sizes... so we opened a few and there was nothing in the files... some did work though?! :facepalm::mad::cry:

So, is there a way to recover these? Or is there something he i doing wrong?!

This is 3 years worth of songs and demos too, and i know, what a dick for not checking before i binned them... even typing this is making me feel sick... backup your files guys....

:cry::cry::cry:

It depends how long ago the files were deleted. When a file is "deleted" (emptied from the trash bin) it kind of goes into a limbo state where it will remain on your hard drive until you use up the space where it once was. There are various programs to retrieve these "limbo" files.

I've never used this software, but it should do the trick.
