ok I have a TU2 that I normally run through the front of the amp but Im trying to simplify my setup and Im attempting to run everything through the loop of my amp. Given that Im only going to be using a delay, supressor and tuner I thought this would be ok. But when i put my TU2 in the loop and activate it, it doesnt mute my amp like it does when its in front.

why is this? and why is it that Im sure that Ive seen someone with the same amp as me with a rack tuner in their loop which mute their amp?

You probably have a parallel loop, theres a parallel signal going from your preamp>poweramp and also through the fx loop. So if the fx loop is muted, that first signal is still going through fine.

Yep, I did a bit more research and your right.

I was really keen to get the tuner away from the front of my amp to save some leads and setup time.

Is there any issue continuously switching your amp on standby to mute your amp while tuning using the loop?
