new EHX worm vs old worm and phaser differences?

so how is the phaser in the new EHX worm compared to small stone thickness?

 

is there any difference between the phaser in the older and newer models?

i have the smaller xo model, i dont use the phaser that much, but its ok. however i havnt used a small stone.

 

the older models apparenty are more warbbly and more noisy from what ive heard

The newer model fixed the noise issues and has an expression input. I kept my older box, but that's mostly because I'm a sucker for the discontinued stuff. But practically speaking, the XO is more friendly.

i was looking to see if it would replace my small stone if the modulated wah could pull a close Diamond Sea into tone... but looks like no on both counts

I have a Worm XO (never tried the original big box), and it's a nice pedal. The phaser sounds more like a univibe to me though... so if you like univibe sounds, it will be great. But if you want a more traditional sounding phaser, get the Small Stone.

 

The phaser's my favorite setting on the Worm.
