Members J3RK
I hadn't seen this site before. I got a sticker with a link to it in the box that my Tau Phaser kit came in: http://www.notbreathing.com/synth.html
Members kpatz
WOW. That is cool. I used to build circuits with the 76477 chip when I was a kid. This reminds me of those. And tube synths! I hope when I die and go to heaven that there'll be stuff like that there.
Members augerinn
Why do I get the sinking feeling that a lot here can read schematcs and solder ? Or is a fuzzy, warm feeling ?
Members ElectricPuppy
When you accidently drip molten solder on yourself, it's a very warm feeling.
Members idiotboy
Despite the fact that I went to "computer electronics" school, (Sylvania Technical Institute, back in the '80s), I'm only so-so with reading schematics. But soldering is like second-nature to me. It gets me really focussed and peaceful. Very zen.

Members ElectricPuppy
I've still got a pair of 76477's in a drawer, bought them long ago from when Radio Shack used to sell 'em. I made many a bleepy-blurp-boowowowowow with them when I was just a teen.

I couldn't figure it out so a friend helped me build it.
Members Gribs
So is grabbing the wrong end of a soldering iron.... Lol, my oldest kid learned about being careful around a soldering iron last winter when he was learning to solder. I must have cautioned him a hundred times, but it always takes a learning experience to hit home. Some interesting music on that web page. I am having a hard time listening to it for very long, at least at this time of day (mind tired, stressed out, hard to concentrate on it). There are a lot of interesting sounds to sort out. Members J3RK
So is grabbing the wrong end of a soldering iron.... Nothing like a good soldering iron burn. I usually have mine down around 650, so if I accidentally bump into it at that temp, it hurts, but not a huge deal. I was desoldering something not long ago, and had it at 800. One of my knuckles brushed across it, and I watched my skin melt/peel off as it went by. I have a lovely scar now. I've never had a burn quite like it. Usually my skin (however charred it might be,) stays in place.
