Members augerinn
OK, so logistically, 4 synths through my Wavestation A/D won't work, so I need a nice outboard FX unit. Requirements: 1. 1U rack mount2. Cheap3. Delay and Verb as a minimum, nice to have would be flange, phase, etc.4. Cheap5. MIDI would be nice, so it could respond to patch changes6. Cheap I know abosolutely NOTHING about outboard FX, so I don't even know where to start. Maybe a hunnerd bucks ? 200 max. Thinking maybe an Alesis Microverb or Lexicon MX200
Members mildbill
I love Alesis keyboards, but I don't like their effects. I'd go with the Lexicon, for inexpensive.
Members aeon
Ensoniq DP/2. Tons of different fx, and meets your criteria. cheers,Ian
Members ElectricPuppy
I have the MX200. It does exactly what it claims, for not too many clams. Editing obviously isn't extensive, but for just bread-n-butter effects, it does the job.
Members AfroRouge
The TC M300 also has some nice sounds in a very, very simple and inexpensive package. Like the MPX200, it doesn't have a huge depth of editing options, and certain things like patch changes aren't 100% smooth. But it's cheap as dirt and for fire-and-forget reverb, especially, it does the job. A used MPX500 is another option. I like this unit a lot for bread n' butter stuff. Members drxcm
I used to have a Boss SX-700, sounds great, really easy to use, have seen them go for under USD$100. Also it has some of the Roland RSS algo's in it which are pretty cool. +1 on the Ensoniq stuff- that sounds great too..

Members asynchro_nous
I have a Lexicon MPX550 that I would recommend as a decent quality [very white] bread and [almost overly clarified] butter processor. My Kurzweil Mangler is more like a multicourse Korean dinner -- spicy, strange and nutritive all at once.

Members Karma1
Another endorsement for the Lexicon MX200. It sounds great, has stereo in and out, and has dual processors that you can use separately or together. Around $199.

Members MuzikB
I went one better with the Lexicon MX300. I prefer the screen, increased edit ability, and computer integration. I also choose it over many others because of the Chorus setup which comes in really handy with my own and other peoples analog gear.
