Members Astynax
Morning guys, Well it's been a while since I've posted on here but need some gear advice so thought I'd ask this collective font of wisdom! I'm off on tour in a few months and I can't take my guitar head with me. I can't really face the uncertainty of rocking up to a venue with my stomp boxes and waiting to see what amps they have there, whether they are footswitchable or any of that nonsense - therefore, I thought I'd look at getting an 'all-in-one' solution that I can run into any old head as a power amp. I need to switch between clean and distorted as well as deploy a number of other effects (delay, chorus, tremelo, phaser) - it'll also need to be relatively sturdy. My budget is around
Members sameoldbluesman
If thats what you need, I'd say look at the Vox ToneLab or the POD HD series. I have two friends that have the tonelabs, and they can run straight into the PA or into a nice tube amp and sound consistently awesome. Don't know if that is in your budget or not. Members ambient
I used to do this with a tone lab. However if I had to do it now, I'd try a tech 21 character series pedal as the amp sim and use a good dirt pedal.

Members Astynax
Cheers guys, thought it might be a toss-up between the Vox and the POD. I assume the HD series is the new version of the XT stuff? What would be the general areas of comparison in which one might out/under-perform the other do you know?
