Members Obsidious
My pc is old and decrepit and I can't seem to get anything off of that page, but I'm guessing they are dubstep or something like that? I haven't heard anything dubstep yet but am pretty curious to see what it is exactly. Is it fast tempo? Or nice chilled actual dub? Oh hey it just came thru, very nice, I like, is good. Yeah I'd like to hear some more stuff like that myself, love the new school dark dubby stuff but I don't really know any names. I can recommend you some classic dubby goodness. Lee Scratch Perry Scientist King Tubby check these guys out for starters if you don't know 'em, that's where the sound started. I luuuuurve jamaican music. classic album, and everyone who ever played GTA3 knows this one. Orbvs - Terrarum : lush album, exquisite production values, sort of like your link example, ambient dark electronic dubby goodness.
Members SoundwaveLove
I don't think it's dubstep, it's dub, downtempo heavy basslines, but it's got a real fresh sound. Dubstep is more of a two step thing, but sometimes up into mid tempo. Thanks for the classic recommendations, I'm certainly well aquatinted with those artist, but they each have like 40+ albums, I could always dig into them deeper. Members Obsidious
Not really dark electronic dub but how about these guys. awesome 7 piece NZ reggae/dub band, talented musicians. Yeah I was figuring Dubstep was some 2step offshoot. Still curious to here some good examples though.

Ahh once you've heard one scientist album you've heard 'em all. That's what I love about jamaican music though, it's like a good natured old friend you can always rely on to cheer you up. Sort of off topic, but I really want to hear more dancehall too. Like that cool electro dub stuff it's really hard to find if you don't know where to look. So many brilliant underground artists out there that never get heard.

Members Obsidious
There was a track on a roots manuva compilation I really dug, "rhythm and sound" by No Partial, really cool grimey dub. Never managed to find anything else by 'em unfortunately, dark and bottom heavy. Heard this one? Timing is exactly same as Dark Side so you can still sync it up to wizard of oz:p They also did a radiohead album called radiodread, never heard it though. Dub version of gorillaz first album by spacemonkeyz, highly recommended

Dub-step compilations are holding me over for the time being. I'll check out no partial.
Members Space Peeps
thanks for linking that band. i like what i heard. i'd also suggest checking out the orb. start with 'adventures beyond the ultraworld' and work your way forward. their old stuff is their best work, imho. it reminds me a lot of that band you linked. i think that early transglobal underground might have some songs that would interest you too. one in particular called, 'dupi' comes to mind. it's been a long time. that song might not be spelled correctly. Members greaseenvelope
lhm1138: You just posted all the artists I would have mentioned. Twilight Circus albums Dub Voyage and Volcanic Dub are classics. Also the first two Pole albums. There is also supposedly some kind of weird "psy-dub" scene ancillary to the psy-trance scene but I don't know any of the artists involved. I also just realized I'm way into some grimy dub-step, with the help of "Excision" and their two tracks "Wasted" and "Serious Business" If you can find these tracks I can't praise them highly enough. Members ShakaCthulu
I don't know much about dub-step I'm sorry to say, but it doesn't seem much different, just more contemporary and synth/software driven. I like what I've heard though, like Skream.

I like what I've heard though, like Skream. It's fundamentally different as it follows a 2-step pattern, and is usually higher tempo, and uses break beats. But the vibe is very similar.
