Members jonny guitar
Get the power tubes working is my best advice and get a good PI tube because my 2210 was super fussy and would wail if the PI was failing.
Members Neonknight
I have the 50W version head 2205 and have been loving it since the day i bought it over a decade ago. This is the settings i use. Gain 10 Volume 10 Precence 10 Master 3 - 4 The eq settings may vary from guitar to guitar but as far as i remember at the moment since the amp is in the rehearsal studio as allways it is roughly. Bass 6 - 9 Mid 3 - 4 Treble 4 - 5 I play progressive Deathmetal so talking of rock tones may be not entirely right although it is surely good for hi gain rock tones. This setting roars and sings. No need for OD or distortion pedals here BTW i use it with an old straight 4x12 cab with greenbacks from the
Members tuna141
Here's a tip to get my 2210 favorite tone: Lower your Master Voume and max the clean channel volume, bass, and treble. This gives a nice thick Marshall crunch tone (similar to a 2203/2204). I then use the Boost channel for leads - I reduce the gain on this channel as much as I can without loosing sustain (this channle can get pretty buzzy if the gain is boosted too high)
