I've run my amps hard (SLO's and old Marshalls), they do NOT need any tube-change every six months.

As long as they sounds great, no need for a tube change.

(2 - 3 years really, on the same tubes, still going strong..).

Some class A amps "eat" tubes, and they might need a tubechange every six-months or within a year....IMO it depends on the amp.

My jcm 800 2203x had the stock marshall el34's when I bought it in march of 2005 and they're still in there doing fine. I'm gunna put some Ruby el34bstr's in though just for a change. My 5150 has had the same jj6l6's in there for about a year and a half, but I harly ever play it so they'll last a long time. The laney GH100L I just got has had the powertubes in there for about a year they said, but I'm gunna change then out for el34's I think. I usually just use the tubes until I can tell it sounds like {censored}.

the powertubes in my engl fireball are about 4 months old. two of the JJ pre's i have in there are about 3 months, and i recently put two 1957 RCA 12ax7's in there...i have no idea how many hours are on those, but they still sound killer.
