I've owned both and still own the dime one if that gives you a clue to which is better. I owend a 535q way back like 7 or 8 years ago when they first came out and it sucked my tone a lot. The dimebag doesnt do it so much but it also has the 20db gain boost which gives you your tone back on the lead channel.

No it was the old 9v one. It was bought right when it first came ou.

actually, then you have the 18V one. they weren't made 9 volts until most of the way through the production.

are your Q and Boost controls on the side, or the bottom?

Actually you know what it might have taken 2 batteries. I really cant remember cause it was so long ago. I have no idea where the controls where though cause it was like 8 years ago and I had it for 2 weeks and didnt like it too much. To be fair my playing has gotten better over the years so back when i was like 14 I might not have liked it but being 22 now the pedal might actually be alright to me. Sorry but my opinion is kinda useless now. The dime wah kicks ass though, been using that for like 4 years now.

Hey, I always recommend the stripped down version of the Dimebag wah. The Dimebag Custom wah. It doesn`t have all the extra {censored}e, but does have a killer tone to it. It`s got the red fasel inductor, extended sweep and true bypass. Just one tone, but it`s very raunchy and in your face. Great for hard rock and modern metal. Plus the price is right at less than $100.00 street price.

I`ve had my Dimebag Custom for a couple of years and love it. One good thing besides the killer tone, is you never run accross anyone else who has one. They are a serious sleeper pedal.

I've tried both and own the 535Q. That's the best Wah for the money if you ask me. Honestly the two wah's are very similar in sound and options. My 535Q has the 5 Wah mode selector on the side and the Q and Boost adjustment underneath. I set the boost to basically give me unity gain when I step on the pedal. You know how when you step on some wahs your sound gets a bit smaller? You can adjust that with this wah and probably the Dimebag wah also. Great feature. Be careful cranking on the boost though or you'll give uncontrollable feedback if it's set too high. The Q Basically adjust how far the travel is on the wah's range. If it's set high the wah will quack really fast as you sweep through the range and if it's set low the wah is more useful as a filter effect and you really have to work the wah like that for traditional Porno wah sounds:D I leave the Q set fairly high and I get a really good Pantera "By Demons Be Driven" intro sound out of it. With the Wah Selector on the side you can get the original Crybaby sound on one extreme and a Voxish mellow sweeping sound at the other extreme which is great for octaves and clean playing. I've found you can tune the wah with the selector to fit what tuning or key your playing as it is optimized at certain frequencies. The Dime Wah I tried is probably just as good but does cost alot more. I'd stick with the 535 for the pure value but either one is a killer buy. Hope this helps!
